The present invention relates to a live broadcast room gift resource updating method and apparatus, and a medium and an electronic device. The method comprises: receiving a gift resource list request sent by a client, the gift resource list request comprising an event triggering condition of a sending event and a user ID of a login user in the client; in the case that the event triggering condition is a preset condition, sending a gift resource list to the client, the gift resource list comprising information used for indicating gift resources to be updated; in the case that the event triggering condition is not the preset condition, determining whether the login user in the client is a specified user, and if yes, sending a gift resource list to the client; and receiving a gift resource updating request sent by the client. In this way, by setting the preset condition and the specified user, the number of clients needing to update the gift resources is reduced, then the control of a server load and a resource download bandwidth is implemented, and the situations that a server is overloaded and bandwidth use distribution is uneven or bandwidth cost is too high are avoided.
