Abstract:
A local exhaust apparatus for suctioning polluted air and discharging same to the outside is disclosed. The disclosed local exhaust apparatus comprises: a driving part; a swirler disposed near a suction port of an exhaust pipe so as to be rotated by means of the driving part, thereby generating a vortex; and a box in which the swirler is accommodated. A front wall of the box, which faces a vortex discharge end portion of the swirler, has an opening formed at a portion corresponding to the vortex discharge end portion, and another wall of the box has at least one auxiliary exhaust port for discharging the air inside the box to the outside. A gap is formed in the direction of the rotational central axis of the swirler between the front wall, at which the opening is formed, of the box and the vortex discharge end portion of the swirler, such that the vortex generated by means of the swirler so as to be discharged through the vortex discharge end portion flows into the box through the gap.
