Abstract:
The present disclosure relates to a 5G or 6G communication system for supporting higher data transmission rates. A method executed by a terminal according to an embodiment disclosed herein may comprise the steps of: transmitting a domain name system (DNS) query message including information related to the location of the terminal to a network entity that processes DNS messages in order to support edge computing; and receiving a DNS response message from the network entity in response to the DNS query message, wherein the information related to the location of the terminal includes at least one of information indicating the range from the location of the terminal or an indicator requesting that information indicating the range from the location of the terminal be configured.
