Provided is a lock structure for an operating lever, which is configured so that the operating lever can be locked and unlocked easily and so that, even if unwanted external force is applied to the operating lever in a locked state, the operating lever can be consistently maintained in the locked state. A lock structure 4 comprises a gear 6 and an engagement/disengagement switching section 8. The gear 6 is disposed concentric with the pivoting center 103a of an operating lever 103. The engagement/disengagement switching section 8 has an engagement pawl 12 provided to the gear 6 so that the engagement pawl 12 can move toward and away from the gear 6. The engagement pawl 12 is connected to a switching lever 16 to form a substantially T-like shape, the switching lever 6 being rotatably supported by the body section 10 of the engagement/disengagement switching section 8. The rocking operation of the switching lever 16 switches between the locked state and unlocked state of the operating lever 103. In a state in which the engagement pawl 12 and a tooth groove 7 of the gear 6 are engaged with each other, a gap having an angle α open in the direction in which the operating lever 103 loosens is formed between the engagement pawl 12 and the tooth groove 7.
