Abstract:
In a lock-up device, the invention can obtain the intended lock-up torque capacity by reducing hydraulic fluid pressure and reduces the rate of change in torque with respect to hydraulic fluid pressure. The device is provided with a piston (30), a clutch (31), a first hydraulic chamber (Q1), a second hydraulic chamber (Q1), a first hydraulic port (P2), and a second hydraulic port (P3). The first hydraulic chamber (Q1) is formed between a front cover (2) and the piston (30) and is supplied with hydraulic fluid for operating the piston (30). The second hydraulic chamber (Q2) is formed independent of the first hydraulic chamber (Q1) on the same side of the piston (30) as the first hydraulic chamber (Q1) and is supplied with hydraulic fluid for operating the piston (30). The first hydraulic port (P2) supplies hydraulic fluid to the first hydraulic chamber (Q1). The second hydraulic port (P3) is provided independent of the first hydraulic port (P2) and supplies hydraulic fluid to the second hydraulic chamber (Q2).
