Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to set multi-stage torsion characteristics for a lock-up device, and to reduce overall device size in cases when the lock-up device is provided to a torque converter. This lock-up device (6) is provided with: an input rotational member (9); an output rotational member (10); a plurality of large coil springs (20); and a plurality of small coil springs (21). The plurality of large coil springs (20) are outwardly disposed in a radial direction, and arranged side by side in a circumferential direction. The large coil springs (20) are compressed in a rotational direction by relative rotation of the input rotational member (9) and the output rotational member (10). The small coil springs (21) are movably disposed in inner peripheral portions of the large coil springs (20). In such a lock-up device (6), each of the plurality of large coil springs (20) and at least one of the plurality of small coil springs (21) are compressed in sequence by relative rotation of the input rotational member (9) and the output rotational member (10).
