Description:
LOCKING RAIL FASTING SYSTEM

Technological Area:

This invention is about the locking rail fasting system that can be used in railway industry and rail system infrastructures in general.

Current Situation of the Technique:

Fastening sets used in rail fastening are generally composed of combinations of standard products. In crane systems, rails are first connected to ready-prepared precast concrete by direct fixing method. This connection happens with the help of the plastic peg inside the concrete. This is mounted on concrete in the field as a set composed of plastic bottom layer, under-rail pad, metal compression plate connector, triphone (railway bolt), angle guide and lastly spring clip. As for crane rails, connection system was being constituted by welding on to the ground or flat steels in the current system. After the invention of jumping clip these workmanships have been ruled out.

By welding the bottom part of the clips on to the plate under the rail and fixing the T- bolt on to the bottom part, top clip is screwed to the bolt and tightened with nut and washer. This system is used generally in rail connections of crane tracks. Desired outcomes in rail connection systems are features such as the connection equipment being durable against the lateral load, not breaking, not being loose and not crooking. But clips used in current systems are getting loose and a reason for plates under the rail being wide and big. For this reason, costs were more.

The desired technical specification in rail connection systems is ensuring the rail is not unfastened as a result of the successive forces imposed by the vessel on the rail. Rail connection systems which cannot ensure this function won't allow the rail line and the regarding infrastructure to be able to be used after the geometric deformations that may occur because of displacements.

In the patent application numbered WO2018234785A1, the "Rail fixing device" is described. The invention is a rail fixing device and contains a metal ground plate, a couple of clips positioned on the opposing sides of the ground plate to be engaged on to the regarding sides of a rail and an elastically deformable spring bed arrayed on the ground plate between these clips.

In the above mentioned invention the rail fixing device cannot provide itself an automatic locking feature after the bolt is tightened and this causes the rail to get loose.

In the patent application numbered KR20200057248A, the "Compressing and buff force holder rail clips" is described. The invention is about a rail clips that composed of a buffer element which has restore strength and flexure / tensile strength at the same time in order to solve a conventional problem of a clips and a tightening element which together forms tightening strength and buffer strength.

In the above mentioned invention the rail locking can be achieved by beveling the fixing plate. Meaning that one of the flanks of the bottom plate is wider than other so an automatic bevel is provided while it's being tightened.

As a conclusion there's a need for a new technology that can overcome the disadvantages mentioned above.

Definition of Invention:

This invention is a new, low cost, easy to install technology that can overcome the difficulties above and that doesn't need qualified labor, has both fixing and locking features and doesn't stretch. The advantage provided by our system of the subject of our invention, is ensuring its' automatic locking simultaneously while the rail is tightened between the apparatus. This locking feature is the movable head's feature on the connection bolt. With the help of the angle provided by the movable head the upper part is automatically locked. And this strengthens the rails to avoid stretching after long time use.

With the moveable head connection bolt in our system subject to invention, false assembly is also avoided. With the technical effect achieved by the angle, personnel can fix the rail only by tightening the bolt. The rail will be automatically tightened and locked.

With the help of the structure ensured by our invention, the bottom plates under the rails are thinned, the grammage is lowered in proportion and a significant save on cost is achieved.

For the parts constituting the invention being able to be fixed onto each other easily, it's easily installed and for the assembly time is short, the costs are low. In addition, the invention is hot forged steel so it has a strong structure.

Detailed Description of Invention:

The invention has a connection bolt (3) that forms a bevel after tightened with nut (5) and includes a movable head (3.1) which has a specific angle (a) and anchored in a bearing (2.1).

The so said connection bolt (3) in the invention has the movable head (3.1) that features the locking to the upper part (1) with angle (a) after being tightened with the nut (5).

The parts composing the system subject to invention are basically; the upper part (1), the bottom part (2), the connection bolt (3), the washer (4) and the nut (5). While the upper part (1) has the slot (1.1) on it, the bottom part (2) has a T-shaped bearing (2.1) in the inner side. And the connection bolt (3) has a movable head (3.1) on the bottom. The working principle of the system subject to invention; the bottom part (2) will be placed on the ground plate. Then the connection bolt (3) will be driven through the bearing (2.1). The upper part (1) will be aligned over the bottom part (2). With the washer (4) and the nut (5) the upper part (1) will be made to fix the rail. During fixing the connection bolt's (3) movable head (3.1) forms a specific angle (a). With the help of this angle (a) both the rail is fixed and the upper part (1) over the connection bolt (3) is automatically locked. With this there happens no stretching in the rail.
