Abstract:
A low-dropout linear regulator (300) and a control circuit thereof. The control circuit comprises an error amplifier (310), a foldback current-limiting protection circuit (320), an undershoot suppression circuit (330), and an output detection circuit (340). The foldback current-limiting protection circuit (320) is used to limit output current of a power transistor (Mpout) and to provide short-circuit protection. The undershoot suppression circuit (330) is used to perform a pull-down with respect to a control terminal of the power transistor (Mpout) when undershoot of an output voltage (Vout) occurs. The output detection circuit (340) is used to determine, during a startup phase, whether or not the output voltage (Vout) has risen to a preset voltage value, and to turn off foldback features of the foldback current-limiting protection circuit (320) and the undershoot suppression circuit (330) before the output voltage (Vout) rises to the preset voltage value, thereby preventing malfunctions of the foldback current-limiting protection circuit (320) and the undershoot suppression circuit (330) from affecting normal startup of the circuit during a circuit startup procedure, and improving load starting capabilities of the circuit.
