Abstract:
[Problem] To provide a colored stainless steel article having excellent viewing-angle color tone discrimination and excellent corrosion resistance, in which a chemical coloration technique having improved industrial color tone is used. [Solution] A chemically colored stainless steel article having an uneven surface formed by a grinding treatment, wherein the 60-degree mirror surface gloss [Gs(60°)] of the uneven surface is 5-50. In the grinding treatment, a sandblasting treatment alone is performed or sandblasting treatment and electrolytic polishing treatment are jointly performed. The sandblasting treatment is performed through use of a projection material configured from inorganic particles having a Mohs' hardness of at least 6. A manufacturing method comprising a sandblasting treatment step, an electrolytic polishing treatment step, a coloration treatment step for generating a coloring coating by dipping in a coloration liquid comprising a mixed solution of chromic acid and sulfuric acid, and a curing treatment step for dipping the coloration-treated stainless steel in a curing treatment liquid comprising a mixed solution of chromic acid and phosphoric acid and curing the coloring coating.
