Abstract:
Provided are: a lubricant agent having excellent heat resistance and lubricity; and a magnetic recording medium having excellent practical properties. A lubricant agent is used, which comprises an ionic liquid, wherein the ionic liquid is formed from a sulfonic acid having a perfluoropolyether backbone and an aliphatic amine that has a linear hydrocarbon group having 10 or more carbon atoms. When a lubricant agent layer (15) is formed using the lubricant agent, excellent lubricating properties can be achieved and practical properties including runnability, abrasion resistance and durability can be improved.
