Abstract:
The present invention provides a lubricant base oil for fluid dynamic bearing, which contains a diester of an aliphatic dihydric alcohol and an aliphatic monocarboxylic acid. The aliphatic dihydric alcohol is a linear or branched chain dihydric alcohol having 9 or more carbon atoms, and the aliphatic monocarboxylic acid is a linear aliphatic monocarboxylic acid having 7 or more carbon atoms. The lubricant base oil has a kinematic viscosity at 100°C of 2.70-3.00 mm2/s and a viscosity index of 160 or more.
