Abstract:
Provided is a hydrocarbon-based lubricant base oil in which the urea adduct value is no more than 4 mass%, the viscosity index is at least 100, the average carbon number found by gas chromatography distillation is 23-31, the integral value of the 30 ppm peak divided by the integral value of all the peaks in the range from 0 ppm to 50 ppm of the 13C-NMR spectrum is 0.1-0.2, and the product of the integral value of peaks attributed to tertiary carbon atoms divided by the integral value of all the peaks in the range from 0 ppm to 50 ppm of the 13C-NMR spectrum, and the aforementioned average carbon number, is 1.8-2.5.
