Abstract:
Disclosed are a lubricant composition and a lubricating liquid composition, each of which can exhibit a satisfactory level of lubricating properties even when used in an extremely small amount, can reduce friction or abrasion, and has high extreme-pressure performance, high abrasion resistance and high corrosion resistance. Specifically disclosed are: a lubricant composition which comprises a lubricant base oil comprising a mineral oil, a synthetic oil and/or an animal/plant oil, either 3,4,5-trihydroxybenzoic acid and/or a 3,4,5-trihydroxybenzoic acid ester in an amount of 0.01 to 20 mass% relative to the total amount of the lubricant composition, and either a thickening agent and/or an amide compound in an amount of 1 to 70 mass% relative to the total amount of the lubricant composition, and which takes a semi-solid form at ambient temperature; and a lubricating liquid composition which comprises 5 to 85 parts by weight of the lubricant composition and 95 to 15 parts by weright of a volatile solvent.
