Abstract:
The objective of the present invention is to provide a lubricant composition that utilizes environmentally-friendly components, has high load-bearing performance and shear stability, and can maintain the load-bearing characteristics over the long term. The lubricant composition is characterized by containing, in a grease base, a lignin compound derived from a lignin-containing material by means of an alkali treatment. The lignin compound is at least one selected from herbaceous soda lignin and kraft lignin. Also, the content of the lignin compound in the lubricant composition is preferably 1-30 mass%.
