Abstract:
Disclosed is a method for producing a lubricating-oil base oil, the method comprising: a first step for obtaining an isomerized oil by employing a synthetic wax obtained by a gas-to-liquid process, or a lubricating-oil fraction separated from said synthetic wax, as a raw material, and isomerizing normal paraffins included in said raw material into isoparaffins; and a second step for obtaining a lubricating-oil base oil having a cloud point below -5°C by subjecting said isomerized oil to a urea dewaxing treatment.
