Abstract:

Provided is a lubricating oil composition that exhibits an excellent heat resistance stability, corrosion resistance, and extreme-pressure performance. The present invention was achieved based on the discovery that the incorporation of a certain primary aliphatic polysulfide provides a lubricating oil composition that exhibits an exceptional heat resistance stability and extreme-pressure performance. The lubricating oil composition contains a base oil and an additive, wherein 1 to 10 mass% aliphatic polysulfide is contained in the lubricating oil composition as the additive and the proportion of a primary aliphatic polysulfide in the aliphatic polysulfide is 1 to 50 mass%.
