Abstract:
A lubricating oil composition which enables wet clutches to have a high coefficient of dynamic friction and retain it highly satisfactorily. In particular, the lubricating oil composition is suitable for automatic transmissions or non-stage transmissions. It comprises a lube base oil, and incorporated therein, (A) 0.001 to 1 wt.% trihydric or higher polyol and/or condensate thereof, (B) 0.01 to 1 wt.% ash-free dispersant in terms of nitrogen amount, and (C) 0.011 to 0.5 wt.% metal-compound detergent in terms of metal amount, each amount being based on the whole composition.
