Abstract:
A machine tool (100) comprises: a coolant discharge part (125); a first tank (11) for receiving the coolant; a second tank (12) for storing the coolant; a pump (152) for sending the coolant from the first tank (11) to the second tank (12); and a control unit (50). Control modes of the pump (152) include: a first control mode for driving the pump (152) if a first coolant amount in the first tank (11) has exceeded a first prescribed amount and stopping the driving of the pump (152) if the first coolant amount has fallen below a second prescribed amount; and a second control mode for driving the pump (152) so that the first coolant amount is set to a constant amount. The control unit (50) controls the pump (152) in the first control mode if a second coolant amount in the second tank (12) is greater than or equal to a third prescribed amount, and switches the control mode of the pump (152) from the first control mode to the second control mode if the second coolant amount has fallen below the third prescribed amount.
