Abstract:
A machine tool (11) having a tool-mounted spindle moving in X-, Y-, and Z-axis directions so as to machine a large work (89) such as aircraft part installed on a work mounting table (99), capable of machining even the large work (89) efficiently at high speed and with high accuracy, and reducing an installation area, wherein a work support side structural body (15) is provided opposedly to a spindle support side structural body (13) having a spindle head (73) formed movably in X-axis, Y-axis, and Z-axis directions, pallets (105) are installed on the work mounting table (99) of the work support side structural body (15), i.e., on two back to back pallet mounting surfaces, with one pallet mounting surface of the work mounting table (99), having pallet mounting and dismounting means and supported rotatably for indexing about a horizontal axis extending in X-axis direction, brought into a horizontal state by rotatingly indexing means, then the pallets (105) are positioned in vertical state by the rotatingly indexing means, and the work (89) is machined.
