Abstract:
Provided is a technique capable of supporting registration of tool information. This machine tool is provided with a display, a camera, a database in which tool information is associated with each tool, and a control unit for controlling the machine tool. The control unit executes: processing for acquiring a tool image representing a tool being registered from a camera; processing for extracting a feature of the tool being registered, on the basis of the tool image; processing for comparing each set of tool information contained in a database with the feature of the tool being registered, to thereby identify, from among tools defined in the database, one or more tools having said feature, and for acquiring the tool information associated with each of the one or more tools from the database; and processing for displaying a registration screen for accepting input of the tool information relating to the tool being registered, and the one or more sets of tool information acquired from the database, on a display.
