Abstract:
A machine tool equipped with: a control panel which has an operation screen and through which a machine tool operation is received; a first operating system (OS) for controlling the display of the operation screen; a storage device; an application which operates in the first OS; and a control device which operates in a second OS which is separate from the first OS, controls a programmable logic controller (PLC) according to a machining program and controls the machining of a workpiece after the input of an instruction to start machining the workpiece is received. The application provides a function which differs from the control performed by the control device, and provides a function pertaining to the machine tool. A first log outputted by the application upon receiving an operation from the operation screen of the control panel and a second log outputted by the control device are stored in the storage device in synchronization with the time maintained by the first OS.
