Abstract:
Provided are a machine tool, a machining path generation method, and a computer program that are capable of generating a machining path precisely and in a short period of time. This machine tool (1) comprises: a main shaft (30), to the distal part of which an instrument is mounted; a movement part (6) which, following a reference path of an outer peripheral side or an inner peripheral side of a master workpiece (9), moves the main shaft (30) to which the instrument (30a) is mounted and brings the main shaft (30) nearer to a peripheral part of the master workpiece (9) or separates the main shaft (30) from said peripheral part; a first detection unit (CPU 41) which detects contact of the instrument (30a) with the peripheral part; an acquisition unit (CPU 41) which acquires the coordinates of the main shaft (30) each time the first detection unit detects said contact; and a first generation unit (CPU 41) which generates a first machining path on the basis of the plurality of sets of coordinates detected by the acquisition unit.
