Abstract:
A machine tool having a movable cover and a fixed cover for covering at least part of a machining region, the machine tool being equipped with: a cover control device provided with a drive circuit for driving the movable cover; an abnormality detection device for detecting an abnormality while driving the movable cover; a self-diagnosis device for evaluating whether or not the abnormality detection device is normal; and an output device for outputting the evaluation results from the self-diagnosis device. Therein, the self-diagnosis device is configured so as to evaluate whether or not the abnormality detection device is normal on the basis of the state of operation of the abnormality detection device when a pseudo-abnormality is produced in the movable cover by driving the movable cover via the drive circuit.
