Abstract:
Provided is a machine tool 2 comprising: a movable cover 4 for opening or closing a machining chamber M; a discharge part including a discharge outlet 42 for releasing gas to cover an opening area Op that appears when the movable cover 4 is moved from a closed position to an open position; and a control part that changes the amount of the gas to be released from the discharge outlet 42 in accordance with an opening degree L of the opening area Op. Thus, it is possible to provide the machine tool capable of reducing scattering of mist of coolant to the outside, with less energy consumption.
