Abstract:
Provided is a machine tool enabling prompt supply of a workpiece to a machining unit by using a loader. The machine tool is provided with: a first loader for conveying a workpiece to a first machining unit; a second loader for conveying a workpiece to a second machining unit; and a workpiece conveyance device for transferring a workpiece between the first loader and the second loader. The workpiece conveyance device allows for mounting of a first inversion unit, a second inversion unit, and a shift unit thereon. If the first and second inversion units have been mounted, then the machine tool executes inversion control for causing a workpiece that has been received at the first inversion unit from the second loader to be inverted at the first and second inversion units, and transferring the same from the second inversion unit to the first loader. Furthermore, if the shift unit has been mounted, then the machine tool executes shift control for performing transfer from the shift unit to the first loader while maintaining the orientation of a workpiece that has been received at the shift unit from the second loader.
