Abstract:
This machining method for performing a cutting process by moving a workpiece (W) relative to a cutting tool (11) is characterized by using the cutting tool (11), which is provided with a cutting insert (28) having a first curved portion (40a), a second curved portion (40c) formed as a continuation of the first curved portion (40a) and having a curvature less than that of the first curved portion (40a), and a connecting portion (40b) connecting the first curved portion (40a) and the second curved portion (40c), to perform the cutting process by positioning the connecting portion (40b) at a tip end in an incision direction perpendicular to a direction of relative movement during the cutting process.
