Abstract:
A machining tool having first, second and third axes (X, Y, Z) which substantially constitute a space coordinate system. This machining tool has various kinds of tools (T1-T10) arranged in a plurality of steps along the first and second axes (X, Y). A workpiece (W) is supported on a workpiece base (1), and the tools (T1-T10) on a tool base (2). The workpiece base (1) and tool base (2) are arranged in opposition to each other in the direction of the third axis (Z), and adapted to be guided so as to be moved relatively to each other in the directions of the first, second and third axes (X, Y, Z). The workpiece base (1) and tool base (2) are sent relatively to each other in the directions of the first and second axes (X, Y), and the tools (T1-T10) to be used are thereby exchanged. The workpiece base (1) and tool base (2) are then sent relatively to each other in the direction of the third axis (Z), and the workpiece (W) is mechanically processed with the tools (T1-T10). The workpiece base (1) and tool base (2) may be sent relatively to each other in the direction of the first axis (X) or second axis (Y) to thereby mechanically process the workpiece (W) with the tools (T1-T10).
