Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide: a magnesium air battery electrode that suppresses generation of hydrogen peroxide; and a magnesium battery. Provided are the following: a magnesium air battery electrode containing one or more types of metal complex selected from the group consisting of cobalt complexes and iron complexes; the magnesium air battery electrode in which the metal complex is a cobalt complex; the magnesium air battery electrode in which the cobalt complex has ligand atoms, and at least 1 of the ligand atoms is a nitrogen atom or oxygen atom; the magnesium air battery electrode in which the metal complex is an iron complex; a magnesium air battery having the magnesium air battery electrode; and an aromatic compound that forms the complex, and the complex.
