Abstract:

A method for producing a magnesium alloy plate wherein a magnesium alloy plate containing, in mass %, 0.1 to 10.0 % of Al, 0.1 to 4.0 % of Zn is rolled with a mill roll, which comprises inserting the magnesium alloy plate having a surface temperature of 100°C or lower to the mill roll having a surface temperature of 100 to 300°C; and a magnesium alloy plate produced by the method. When a rolling comprising plural passes is applied, a non-preheat rolling involving the above surface temperatures of a magnesium alloy plate and the mill roll is carried out at least in the last pass. The magnesium alloy plate has satisfactory strength in combination with excellent bending workability.
