Abstract:
This magnetic array has a plurality of magnetoresistance effect elements and a pulse application device that applies pulses to each of the plurality of magnetoresistance effect elements. Each of the plurality of magnetoresistance effect elements has a domain wall displacement layer, a ferromagnetic layer, and a non-magnetic layer that is sandwiched between the domain wall displacement layer and the ferromagnetic layer. The pulse application device is configured to be capable of applying an initialization pulse and an operation pulse to each of the plurality of magnetoresistance effect elements. The initialization pulse has a first pulse that is applied a plurality of times and thereby widens the distribution of the resistance values of the plurality of magnetoresistance effect elements from an initial distribution. The voltage of each of the first pulses is smaller than the voltage of the operation pulse, or the pulse length of each of the first pulses is shorter than the pulse length of the operation pulse.
