Abstract:
A magnetic current sensor having: a Wheatstone Bridge circuit comprising four magneto-resistance elements; a bias magnetic field application means that applies a bias magnetic field to the magneto-resistance elements; and hollow-core coils provided on both sides of the Wheatstone Bridge circuit. The magnetic current sensor is characterized by the Wheatstone Bridge circuit generating a voltage corresponding to an induction field generated by the current to be measured that flows through the hollow-core coils. As a result of this magnetic current sensor and current measurement method, a more compact, lower cost sensor having increased current is possible, as a result of: the excellent linearity between the output voltage and the current in the vicinity of 0 mA as a result of magnetic hysteresis being suppressed; and the excellent insulation properties between the current circuit side and the MR element side.
