A first temporary recording area and a normal recoding area formed in an area different from the first temporary recording area are provided in advance on the magnetic disk medium of a magnetic recording/reproducing device, a magnetic head performs data recording/reproducing on the magnetic disk medium, a spindle motor turns the magnetic disk medium, a control circuit controls data recording/reproducing on the magnetic disk medium, and the control circuit saves data in the first temporary recording area as temporarily recorded data when a detection temperature detected by a temperature detection circuit is up to a set temperature, and later transfers, when a detection temperature is at least the set temperature, the temporarily recorded data for recording in the normal recording area. The above arrangements can provide a magnetic recording/reproducing device and a data recording method therefor that ensure a specified recording/reproducing performance and are excellent in production cost reduction and device size reduction despite variations in the application temperature environment of the magnetic recording/reproducing device, especially under a low-temperature environment.
