Abstract:
A magnetic disk substrate of an embodiment comprises a pair of main surfaces, and an outer peripheral edge surface. In the magnetic disk substrate, the outer peripheral edge surface has a pair of chamfered surfaces connecting to the main surfaces, respectively, and a side wall surface extending in a curved manner to protrude outwards between the pair of chamfered surfaces. In a cross section along a plate thickness direction of the magnetic disk substrate, the side wall surface has a radius of curvature of 1100 μｍ or more.
