Abstract:
[Problem] To provide a magnetic field device that can efficiently drive molten metal with a large driving force, and a molten metal driving method in which said magnetic field device is used. [Solution] A magnetic field device 1 according to one embodiment comprises: a rotating body 2 that is rotationally driven around a center axis; a magnet 3 that is fixed on the rotating body 2, and is magnetized with the upper surface thereof as the N-pole; and a magnet 4 that is fixed to the rotating body 2, and is magnetized with the upper surface thereof as the S-pole, wherein the magnet 3 and the magnet 4 are arranged in a facing manner so as to form a groove section G that is longer in length than in width.
