Abstract:
A magnetic flow control device according to an embodiment of the present invention includes: a pole piece assembly including an N pole piece and an S pole piece, each of which has a first surface and a second surface and which is ferromagnetic, and a permanent magnet disposed to contact an N-pole to the N pole piece and an S-pole to the S pole piece; a first outer pole piece, a second outer pole piece, and a base pole piece, each of which has a first surface and a second surface and which is ferromagnetic; a coil wound around at least one among the N pole piece, the S pole piece, the first outer pole piece, the second outer pole piece, and the base pole piece; and a control device controlling current applied to the coil. One of the N pole piece and the S pole piece is disposed to surround the other. The pole piece assembly can move between a first position and a second position. At the first position, the first and second surfaces of the base pole piece are magnetically spaced from the first surface of the N pole piece and the first surface of the S pole piece, respectively, and the second surface of the N pole piece and the second surface of the S pole piece magnetically contact the first surface of the first outer pole piece and the first surface of the second outer pole piece, respectively. At the second position, the first and second surfaces of the base pole piece magnetically contact the first surface of the N pole piece and the first surface of the S pole piece, respectively, and the second surface of the N pole piece and the second surface of the S pole piece are magnetically spaced from the first surface of the first outer pole piece and the first surface of the second outer pole piece, respectively.
