Abstract:
A magnetic holding (1) device and method of manufacturing same are disclosed. The device has a support structure (10) made of an iron alloy and has a substantially planer bearing surface with at least one magnetic (20) or magnetisable region located therein. Insulating means (30) made of non magnetic material are interposed between said magnetic regions and said support structure to resist magnetic induction of, or leakage to, said support structure.
