Abstract:
A magnetic linear position detector (20) comprises a fixed element (1) and a movable element (2) that is formed to be capable of moving along a first direction relative to the fixed element (1). One of the fixed element (1) and the movable element (2) has a magnetic detection element (3), and the other of the fixed element (1) and the movable element (2) has a magnet (4). In a first surface of the magnet (4) that faces the magnetic detection element (3), N poles and S poles are alternately provided along the first direction. The magnet (4) has a first region (11) and second regions (12) that are provided on both sides of the first region (11) along the first direction. In the first region (11), the length along a second direction perpendicular to the first surface is fixed. In the second regions (12), the length along the second direction is different from that in the first region (11).
