Description:
MAGNETIC PEN-CONTROLLED KEYPAD

Technical Field

The invention related to magnetic pen controlled keypad ensuring switching of magnetic sensors with magnet containing magnetic pen used in electrical actuators.

Background of the Invention

Electrical actuators are power transmission elements that convert the driving force provided by the electric motor to rotational movement. The driving force obtained by the electric motor ensures the rotational movement of the gears inside the body. The gear system ensures acquisition of constant torque throughout the entire rotation.

Electrical actuators are widely used in the industry for opening and closing control of the valves. Actuators basically comprised of the placement of an electric motor and gear mechanism in a body. Electrical actuators are used to control process flow through being assembled on different types of valves (globe, butterfly, spherical).

Actuators can be controlled remotely or by the key, switch placed on the product or similar methods according to the requirement. Actuators can be controlled by means of the mechanical keypad or remote controller or by establishing communication with an application, so the status monitoring can be performed, and the features can be activated/deactivated and reset.

In the present situation, the actuators can be used in outer environments (very cold, hot, dusty, explosive, etc.). For this reason, the keys or switches that are used on it must be appropriate for challenging environment conditions. In particular, since these products are used in nuclear, petroleum, natural gas, dams, etc. places, the long-life of these keys becomes necessary and compulsory.

The keys that are used in current actuators are comprised of mechanical or magnetic moving parts. The operating structure of magnetic sensors is to produce output by triggering the base input of the transistors located inside by using the magnetic field strength falling on it. The magnetic field can be produced in many different ways, however it is generally provided by a magnet. The magnet must be zoomed in to and zoomed out from the sensor. In current actuators, this zooming out and zooming in operation is achieved by moving the magnet, which is placed at the bottom part of a key structure, along with the key. These movements can be horizontal or vertical. A mechanism is required for both movements. A large area is required for horizontal movements and a certain depth is required for vertical movements. In order to create these structures, it is required to perform deep moulding and to prepare extra moulds for the keys since they occupy a larger area on the body. This situation seriously increases the initial investment (mould) and mass production costs. Furthermore, since the keys are comprised of moving mechanical parts, this causes them to be affected by environmental factors such as dust, moisture, etc. and have a short life. This may lead to problems regarding sealing. There are disadvantages such as sticking and deterioration of the keys when dust enters between the keys in dusty environments. For this reason, this leads to problems in both production and design.

In the invention, magnetic pen has been used instead of mechanical keys. Electrical actuators are controlled with a magnetic pen. With the invention, the disadvantages of the present technique have tried to been eliminated.

By means of the invention, costs are lower and production is easier now. It is resistant to dust and moisture and occupies less area.

The structural and characteristic specifications and all the advantages of the invention will be more clearly understood by the detailed explanation written below, and therefore this evaluation should be carried out by taking this detailed explanation into consideration.

Description of the Invention

In this detailed statement, the magnetic pen-controlled keypad is explained for a better understanding of the subject and without causing any limiting effect.

The invention in question is comprised of;

• Key locations (1) on the body that are available on the locations of the magnetic sensors (2) and ensure the performance of the operation by zooming in or contacting,

• magnetic sensor (2) that is used for the detection of magnetic pen (3) and has been located inside the body and in close distance to the wall of the body to ensure insulation from the outer environment,

• magnetic pen (3) comprised of body part, magnet (5) and tip part to enable the user to submit command or surf among the menus,

• magnetic pen holder (4) used to avoid losing the magnetic pen (3), ensures the connection to the body with a rope or chain, and located on the device,

• permanent magnet (5) that comfortably and ergonomically triggers the magnetic sensors (2) and produces magnetic field, • pen body (6) that allows the magnet pen to be held and grasped,

• magnet fixing tip (7) that enables the magnet (5) to be fixed.

Magnetic sensors (2) switch their contacts, which are normally closed or normally open, to the fully reverse position when the magnet (5) is approximated to it. As a result, the output contact is either in energized or de-energized status. Voltages at the output contacts are controlled by the processor or an electronic circuit, and transferred to the software or hardware as input information. This information is considered as a request received from the user. The command information is received, transferred to the electronic circuit and the stated tasks are fulfilled as a result of triggering the magnetic sensors (2), which are placed inside the body as close to the body wall, with a magnetic pen (3) at a certain distance from the key locations (1 ) marked on the outside of the body.

The flat moulding of the pen body (6) reduces the exposure to dust and moisture and reduces production costs.

It has been attached to the body with a magnetic pen holder (4) in order to use the pen easily and to avoid it to get lost. The pen body (6) can be manufactured with different materials. There is a permanent magnet (5) at the tip of the pen. With this magnet (5), the magnetic sensors located at the back of the body can be triggered comfortably and ergonomically.

In the invention, there is a magnetic pen (3) for which a permanent magnet (5) is used in electrical actuators. Magnetic sensors (2) are switched with the magnetic pen (3). By using the magnetic pen (3), the requirement for wide area use and depth, as well as the necessity of movement mechanism are eliminated. With the elimination of the mechanism, both the cost has been reduced and the risk of mechanical failure that may occur have been eliminated.

It is obvious that a person skilled in the art can demonstrate the novelty revealed in the invention by using similar embodiments and/or can apply this embodiment in other areas of similar purpose used in the art. It is therefore obvious that such embodiments will not accommodate the criterion of overcoming novelty and in particular the known status of art.
