Abstract:
Disclosed is a magnetic recording medium having a recording layer composed of a ferromagnetic material represented by the following general formula: [(Co1-mPtm)1-nCrn]100-x-yTixOy (wherein m and n respectively represent an atomic ratio, m is not less than 0.2 and not more than 0.4, n is not less than 0 and not more than 0.1, x is not less than 9 at.% and not more than 13 at.%, and y/x is not less than 1.8 and not more than 2.3).
