Abstract:
A magnetic refrigeration device (1) comprises: a heat exchanger (7); a heat exchanger (8); a high-temperature end (5); a low-temperature end (6); magnetothermal containers (11, 12) that are filled with a magnetocaloric material; magnetic field application devices (21, 22) that apply magnetic fields to the magnetothermal containers; pipes (51-55) through which a heat transport medium can be transported between the high-temperature end and the low-temperature end, via the magnetothermal containers; a pump (9) that transports the heat transport medium between the high-temperature end and the low-temperature end via the pipes; valves (31-33) that switch the pipes between an open condition and a closed condition; and a control device (100) that controls the valves to switch the transport route of the heat transport medium. The control device (100) switches the transport route between a first mode, in which the magnetothermal containers are connected in series between the high-temperature end and the low-temperature end and the heat transport medium can be transported, and a second mode, in which the magnetothermal containers are connected in parallel between the high-temperature end and the low-temperature end and the heat transport medium can be transported.
