Abstract:
This magnetic sensor 1 which is provided with a magnetic shield and in which the measurement accuracy of magnetoresistive effect elements is unlikely to deteriorate, is provided with: magnetoresistive effect elements 11a-11d; a magnetic shield 20 that is disposed oppositely to the magnetoresistive effect elements 11a-11d and that attenuates the intensity of a measurement magnetic field applied to the magnetoresistive effect elements 11a-11d; and plane coils 12a, 12b that are electrically connected to the magnetoresistive effect elements 11a-11d, wherein upon power supply to the plane coils 12a, 12b and the magnetoresistive effect elements 11a-11d, a bias magnetic field B is applied to the magnetic shield 20 due to a magnetic field generated from the plane coils 12a, 12b.
