Title:
MAGNETIC SENSOR
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2022/176570
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
[Problem] To provide a magnetic sensor with which it is possible to detect, with high sensitivity, a to-be-measured magnetic field occurring due to a weak electrical current. [Solution] This magnetic sensor 1 comprises: a sensor chip 10 which includes magnetic body layers 21, 22 that are magnetically coupled with a magnetic gap G1 in between, and which includes a magneto-sensitive element 31 that is placed on a magnetic path formed by the magnetic gap G1; an external magnetic body 41 which is magnetically coupled to the magnetic body layer 21; and a measurement current coil C1 which is coiled around the external magnetic body 41 and through which a current I for generating the to-be-measured magnetic field flows. In this way, since the magneto-sensitive element 31 and the magnetic body layers 21, 22 are collected on the sensor chip 10, it is possible for the magnetic gap G1 to have a very narrow design, and it is possible to apply much of a leaked magnetic field to the magneto-sensitive element 31. Thus, even if the current I flowing through the measurement current coil C1 is weak, it is possible to detect, with high sensitivity, a magnetic field occurring due to the current I.
