Title:
MAGNETIC SENSOR
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2022/190853
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
[Problem] To suppress reductions in the magnetic bias applied to a magnetoresistive element in a magnetic sensor provided with a magnetoresistive strip and a ferromagnetic film. [Solution] A magnetic sensor 1 provided with a magnetoresistive strip S that extends in a y-direction, and ferromagnetic films M1, M2 aligned in an x-direction, with a magnetic gap G that extends in the y-direction therebetween. The magnetoresistive strip S is disposed in a position that overlaps with the magnetic gap G when viewed from a z-direction. In the x-direction width of the magnetic gap G, the portion thereof that overlaps with a hard magnetic body H is wider than the portion thereof that overlaps with the magnetoresistive element R. As such, the width of the magnetic gap G in the portion that overlaps with the hard magnetic body H is enlarged, making it difficult for a magnetic field generated by the hard magnetic body H to be attracted to the ferromagnetic films M1, M2. As a result, reductions in the magnetic bias applied to the magnetoresistive element R are suppressed, making it possible to effectively reduce irregular noise superimposed on a detection signal.
