Abstract:
Provided are: a magnetic tape to be used with a magnetic tape device for a magnetic tape having a timing-based servo pattern and a total number of 8,705 or more of data tracks as converted to those of a 1/2-inch-wide magnetic tape, wherein ΔPNL of the timing-based servo pattern is 10.0% or less of a track pitch; a magnetic tape cartridge containing the magnetic tape; and the magnetic tape device including the magnetic tape, wherein the total number of data tracks is 8,705 or more as converted to those of a 1/2-inch-wide magnetic tape, and the magnetic tape has a timing-based servo pattern, ΔPNL of said timing-based servo pattern being 10.0% or less of a track pitch. The ΔPNL indicates the amount of deviation from the linearity of the timing-based servo pattern.
