The present invention provides a magnetism detection apparatus, a coin identification apparatus, and a magnetism detection method of the magnetism detection apparatus, which are capable of improving the ability to detect magnetic characteristics of coins, and reducing output fluctuation caused by fluctuation in coin conveyance positions. A magnetism detection apparatus according to the present invention is characterized by being provided with: a conveyance path along which coins are conveyed; a plurality of detection coils that are provided to at least one side of the conveyance surface of the conveyance path and that are arranged in a direction intersecting the conveyance direction of the coins; and a control unit that detects the magnetic characteristics of the coins on the basis of output signals of only a portion of the detection coils.
