Abstract:
A magnetoelectric transducer which is extremely thin, can be tested without braking it so as to determine if it is acceptable or defective when mounted, and can be mounted in a small area, and its manufacturing method are disclosed. The substrate (3) is nonmagnetic. A lead (10) has a back face connection electrode having a first thickness and a side face electrode appearing by cutting and having the first thickness. In the case of a Hall device having a higher sensitivity, the substrate (4) is a high permeability magnetic substrate, a lead (10) has a back face connection electrode having a first thickness and a side face electrode appearing by cutting and having the first thickness. The back face connection electrode of the lead (10), astride an inner electrode (8) of a magnetoelectric transducer adjacent to the back face connection electrode while having the first thickness intact, has the same first thickness, and a side face electrode having the first thickness is formed by cutting the central portion thereof.
