Abstract:

A compact, high-quality detector using magnetoresistive elements to detect changes in the magnetic field of a magnet (3) that produces a moving magnetic field. In manufacture of the detector, bias magnets (21, 22, 23 and 24) can be mounted correctly and densely on a printed-circuit board (4) without using tools for positioning them. Magnetoresistive detector elements (11, 12, 13 and 14) have the same shape and dimensions as the bias magnets (21, 22, 23 and 24), and printed-circuit board (4), on which the magnetoresistive elements are to be mounted, is provided with positioning sections (41) that serve to simultaneously position the magnetoresistive detector elements (11, 12, 13 and 14) and the bias magnets (21, 22, 23 and 24).
