Abstract:
A main chain polymer according to one embodiment of the present invention has, in the polymer main chain, a photoreactive reverse wavelength dispersion unit which has both photoreactivity and reverse wavelength dispersion of birefringence; and the photoreactive reverse wavelength dispersion unit has a structure represented by chemical formula (1). (In chemical formula (1), L1 and L2 may be the same or different, and each represent a carbonyl group, an ester bond, an amide bond, an ether bond or a single bond; * indicates the bonding position with another structure in the main chain polymer; Ar represents a ring which is selected from the group consisting of a monocyclic aromatic ring, a polycyclic aromatic ring and a fused aromatic ring, while having an atom that is selected from the group consisting of a carbon atom, a nitrogen atom, an oxygen atom and a sulfur atom, as a ring atom; and the monocyclic aromatic ring, the polycyclic aromatic ring and the fused aromatic ring may have a substituent; and each of R0, R1, R2, R3 and R4 independently represents a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom or an alkyl group having 1 to 8 carbon atoms.)
