Abstract:
Provided are a main shaft device and a method for manufacturing a main shaft device by which it is possible to maintain the quantity of grease inside a bearing at a stable level over a long period of time, and the lifespan of the grease is extended due to a lack of the need to perform long periods of running-in driving, thereby achieving a long lifespan. In a main shaft device (100), outer rings (41, 21) of roll bearings (40, 20) comprise base oil supply openings (47, 27) that penetrate in the radial direction, and a housing (103) comprises grease paths (133a)-(133e) that communicate with the base oil supply openings (47, 27). Grease is sealed in the bearing space of the roll bearings (40, 20). During operation of the main shaft device (100), the grease paths (133a)-(133e) constitute a grease reservoir.
