Abstract:
A system for managing power from a power source (108) for at least one line powered element in an access network (102) is provided. The system includes a power manager (104) that establishes at least one power criterion for the at least one network element. Further, the system includes a power controller (106) that is responsive to the power manager (104). The power manager (104) and the power controller (106) communicate to manage operation of the at least one network element based on the at least one power criterion.
